Drug predators don’t recognize city limits, or any limits for that matter. They only recognizes their needs and their proximity to a hunting ground. Therefore, gangs, drugs & crime spill to Colwood from Gangford.
Drug predators were guaranteed to also hunt in Langford’s neighboring cities.
What a shock! What the heck did you think was going to happen? The two municipalities are geographically intertwined.
Here’s an excerpt from a story in the Times Colonist of March 13, 2015.
“The 21-year-old woman was walking on a trail that goes from Adye Road through Hatley Memorial Gardens about 11:40 p.m. Thursday [March 12], when she was approached by a stranger who tried to engage her in conversation. When she ignored him, he struck her in the face. The suspect had been last seen headed west on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.”
“West Shore RCMP were assisted by a Saanich police dog team in a search Thursday night but no one was located. The suspect was described as 40- to 50- years old and heavy set with a round face. He has bad teeth and facial stubble. Also he was wearing a black baseball cap with a tattered brim, a blue jean jacket and blue jeans.”
Two Things You Should Note From the Story
First, the drug predator had bad teeth.
Does that spell drugs to you? It’s called “meth mouth” and comes from the use of crystal meth. This drug is increasingly replacing crack cocaine as the drug of choice for addicts. Crystal meth, is also known simply as “meth”, “side”, “shard”, “ice”, etc.
Crystal Meth is Cheap
The drug is cheaper than crack cocaine. Yet it produces a high that lasts significantly longer which accounts for its growing popularity. The gangs and dealers also prefer it because it is more addictive and easier to acquire or manufacture.
The principle ingredient of meth is ephedrine This is an ingredient commonly found in many cold remedies. Other chemicals such as brake cleaner, engine starter, rubbing alcohol, battery acid, and fertilizer are then added and the concoction is cooked. This combination of ingredients is lethal to brain cells.
Drug of Choice for Teenagers and Other Addicts
This is what the gangs and dealers peddle. It is also the drug of choice for the teenage punks to sell. This is why I warned you that drugs are invading your schools.
Crystal meth creates more paranoia than the other street drugs. Additionally, people who use it are more prone to violence than with the other street drugs.
Secondly, The RCMP had to get a tracking dog from Saanich. Hmm.
With the paucity of local police resources available, I’m thinking the attacker had time, and maybe even realized (remote though it may be) that he the time, to mix up his scent and hide his trail. What were the cops supposed to do, get on the bullhorn and ask the guy to stall his escape for twenty minutes while they waited for a tracking dog out of Saanich?
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET ENOUGH RCMP AND FUND THE RESOURCES THAT THEY REQUIRE? DO YOU THINK IF COLWOOD HAD CALLED GANGFORD AND ASKED TO BORROW A COUPLE OF STEW’S RENT-A-COPS THAT THE SITUATION MIGHT HAVE HAD A DIFFERENT ENDING?
If the local politicians had budgeted enough money to fund the RCMP with adequate resources in the first place, the state of affairs would have never gotten to this point. We would not be looking at Langford’s drug predators spreading to other cities because Langford would not be over run with drugs and gangs.
They don’t call it “dope” because it makes you smart.
In a stroke of good luck brought on by the idiocy of the attacker, the victim recognized her attacker on the street the next day [March 13, 2015]. The fool was near the area in which she had been attacked and wearing the same clothes.
Of course, she promptly called the police and RCMP flooded the area and arrested the attacker without incident. Unsurprisingly, as all these addicts want is money for drugs or something they hope can be converted to money, the lady revealed that on the night of the attack Mr. Meth Mouth had tried to steal a suitcase she was carrying, but she doggedly held on to it despite the attack.
This onslaught of violence, drugs, and drug predators is what Stew Young believes that he can combat with rent-a-cops.
