Langford’s City Council Should be Booted

Langford's City Council Should be Booted 3

Langford City Council is nothing more than a group of giant egos who have totally lost touch with the people it represents. They all march to Stew Young’s drummer, having been swept into office on his coattails, and they all vote with Stew Young’s interests in mind, NOT YOURS. Each of them have been part and parcel of every horrible decision made by the city. Langford’s City Council should be booted, en masse.

Lillian Szpak, quoted from Goldstream Magazine of July 27, 2015 talking about traffic flow problems along Glen Lake Road due to past development:

“Often it’s a perception of speeding that you have,” she said, adding that no recent studies have been done to document speeding. “The RCMP can’t be there 24-7 monitoring it.”

She suggested that if residents are concerned about speeding in their neighbourhood, they could arrange to borrow portable speed boards [my bold], which display a passing car’s speed and act as a deterrent, reminding drivers to slow down.

I have a few questions for Lillian Szpak:

  1. Why should citizens have to borrow anything to do the city’s job?

  2. Why was the change in the traffic pattern along Glen Lake Road not anticipated when you guys approved the developments that created that change? Isn’t that what planning is all about?

  3. What is happening with the Devils Army in Langford?

Stew Young

Mayor Stew Young, quoted from the June 23, 2015 edition of the SaanichNews

On Tuesday, Langford Mayor Stew Young said Saanich councillors are playing politics at a time when they should be engaging the public on finding the best site for sewage treatment.

“I don’t see how politicians think they know better than the experts,” Young said. “Judy Brownoff seems to be a big advocate of not doing anything in Saanich, but she was all in favour of cramming McLoughlin down the Esquimalt mayor’s throat. Now, she can’t even put up her site in a public process. That, to me, is not what you’re elected for.”

I have a few questions for Stew Young.

  1. Why are you butting into the politics of Saanich when you can’t even run your own city?

  2. Why was the change in the traffic pattern along Glen Lake Road not anticipated when you guys approved the developments that created that change? Isn’t that what planning is all about?

  3. What is happening with the Devils Army in Langford?

  4. Where are the boots on the ground that you promised to deal with Langford’s rising crime rate?

A FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD DOWN

I’m totally disgusted by @RWadeCouncillor. The Langford councillor, not liking the call of a 19 year old umpire at a local youth baseball game, he went on Facebook and called her out using profanity.

He is supposed to be a leader of Langford, as well as an example to our youth as a coach of youth sports. He demonstrated the same arrogance and ego that Stew Young demonstrates with his smug and self righteous attitude.

These guys have been in office far too long; it is time to kick the bums and their egos out of office. We’ve had enough stewpid decisions by these clowns.

It gets worse

Councillor Wade also admits to violating driving laws with the use of his cell phone and says it is no big deal. The problem here is not just that his ego is so big that he believes that he is entitled to live by different laws than you and I, but that he feels so important that he thinks you and I will also believe he is entitled.

I have a few questions for Roger Wade:

  1. Why should you be a member of the Langford City Council, and why should you be entrusted to run a city if you cannot even run a youth baseball team with dignity?
  2. What kind of example do you think you set for everybody when you willingly and defiantly violate driving laws? Do you think you are above the law, if not, what gives you the right to do things that others are not allowed to do?
  3. Why was the change in the traffic pattern along Glen Lake Road not anticipated when you guys approved the developments that created that change? Isn’t that what planning is all about?
  4. What is happening with the Devils Army in Langford?

UPDATE, IT GETS WORSE YET

Roger Wade now says that he didn’t know Chloe Elston was 19 years old, but thought she was 25 years old. I guess it’s okay to bully a woman if she is 25. The guy just doesn’t get it and as a member of the Langford City Council, he is responsible for running a city.

  1. Yet another reason to merge all these pathetic little fiefdoms on the lower island into one entity so fellows like this can be edged out of the process quickly and thoroughly.
