Here is a part of my family history. It relates to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and the part we played in John Wilkes Booth’s escape. I remember hearing about it as a child. However, here are the details as told by our local hometown newspaper.

THE JOHN WILKES BOOTH STORY..
TEXARKANA, ARKANSAS, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1931.
I have always found history to be fascinating. So, I hope that you have enjoyed this small piece from my family background. I also hope that it inspires you to do your own research on any historical persons who might interest you. After all, you never know what you might find.
Perhaps you have famous forbears. However, you will never know without research. Many of us have a family tree rooted in history. Maybe you don’t care about that history. If you have children though, they might care. Therefore, I encourage you to give the gift of their heritage to them.
